Gener8 is something i have recently discovered via a facebook advert. At first i was sceptical but i have researched and tested it out and it all seems to be above board. I also now have an amazon gift card as a result.

So, what is it?

Well, the idea is that instead of seeing normal adverts while you surf they are replaced by Gener8’s adverts and they will pay you to see them. This is done via a browser extension which can currently be added to Chrome or Firefox. I’m using it on Chrome and it doesn’t seem to have an adverse affect on performance.

You collect tokens while you browse and once you have referred a couple of friends you have access to the marketplace where you can exchange the tokens for goods and gift cards. My £5 giftcard was 50 tokens which i can easily collect in a week of normal browsing.

Currently the marketplace is limited but when they reach 50K users they will start to sell advertising space and the rewards should be better. Users currently stand at over 25k.

Working for Appen

Appen is my best earner by far and the work is regular. At the moment i am working on a project that requires 1 hour a day for 5 days a week. The pay is good, better than minimum wage in my country (U.K). Plus you can fit it in around everything else, you choose when to work. Also there are lots of projects available. It can take a long time to get approved for projects (sometimes months!) but it is worth it and you can apply to lots at the same time.

My current project can be completed on a smart phone so you can even do it on your commute. Others require a computer.

I can’t really give specific details due to the non-disclosure agreement i have signed but all the projects i have seen are working for major companies that you will have heard of.

I have worked for Appen for around 6 months now and i have been paid on time every month without problem.

I’m back

I’ve been away from this blog for a while now. Mainly because my time has been taken up with new work opportunities. I now have a (very) part time job in a school and another regular job working from home for 1 hour a day.

Weirdly the work at home job pays better! But that is a post for another occasion.

Qmee

Qmee is one of a large number of survey sites out there. The money isn’t brilliant for the amount of time they take but it’s something and it all adds up. There are also webcam surveys which pay a little more.

Qmee also offer a browser extension which allows you to make a bit of extra money on the side whilst browsing products on the internet.

Payment is very fast via paypal and there is no minimum cashout which seems to be a rarity.

Finally, whenever i log on their seem to be a lot of surveys on there. It’s great for making a bit of spare change when you have a quiet moment.

Prolific Academic

Prolific Academic is one of the sites i have joined most recently and i love it!

It consists of Research Studies carried out by people at Universities around the globe. It is fascinating. Far more interesting than survey sites and better paid too.

I managed to make about £20 fairly easily over the first couple of days after i joined, but it has been fairly quiet since then. Hopefully they will pick up again soon though,

What Users Do

Today i want to tell you about What Users Do.

It’s a company that specialises in website usability testing.

This basically involves following a link to a live website or a prototype. You will then be given tasks to complete on the website. Whilst you are doing them you must ‘think out loud’, giving your opinion of the website and how easy the tasks are to complete. Your screen will be recorded whilst doing this.

At £5 for each test, which are usually less than 20 minutes, What Users Do is not as highly paid as some other similar companies. However i think it’s worthwhile. A big plus point is that they email you when a tests becomes available so you don’t need to stay logged in all the time. The work is also interesting and varied, i really enjoy it.

You will need to install their screen capture software onto your computer to complete the tests. If you want to take part in mobile testing as well then you also need to install their screen mirroring software.
